A few days ago a grey squirrel entered a tawny owl box that we help to monitor. The squirrel didn’t survive, but the nest was subsequently abandoned. While the male has been back to drop off food, the female hasn’t been seen since the incident. Hopefully she is fine and they will try again with 1 less squirrel to contend with.
